PLC AUTOMATION & CONTROL SYSTEM FOR STEAM POWER PLANTS
A boiler installed for simple process steam requirements does not need much automation since small variations in steam pressure and temperature are negligible. However, when a boiler is installed for steam turbine, much more accuracy is required. Further, solid fuel used in boiler is much more complicated than liquid or gas fuels. Hence, complete automation system is installed for fuel handling, pressure regulation, flow of steam and steam turbine electrifications. Fuel feeding to the furnace is automated through VFD installation and attached with boiler pressure & temperature. Pressure drop of steam increases fuel feeding and vice versa: |

Boiler Feed Water Pumps are connected with boiler water level controllers through PLC to maximize boiler water tubes safety. FD fans, ID fans, dumpers and ash rotary motors are also controlled by centeral PLC. All these parameters are displayed in individual controllers along with central HMI for continuous monitoring: |
