We use two kinds of boilers for a steam power plant.
1- Used imported pressure vessels and local fabricated boiler structure.
2- Used imported boiler from ship breaking.
The second category of boilers are designed for HFO in a ship. To use them for solid fuel burning, a solid fuel furnace is needed to be fabricated and installed with this boiler.
Solid fuel furnaces are designed in such a way as to convert complete fuel into heat and gases. There are many popular designs including fludized bed, circulating fludized bed, moving grates, etc.
We utilize fludized bed technology which is simple in design, yet superb in performance. Fuel is fired through fuel burner/blower system and FD fans provide air from below to keep the fuel in air till required time. It is controlled that fuel burns completely before falling into bottom hopper as ash.

The furnace is then covered with initially fire bricks and then civil work to restore heat energy within. |

Temperature of the furnace reaches upto 1200 Deg Centigrade so that the fuel immediately burns when entered into the furnace. Bottom of the furnace is ash collection hoppers tuned up to collect all the ash and maintaining free space for incoming fuel: |
